COURSE OVERVIEW

The purpose of this training is to teach Physician SmartUser to efficiently use an EMR, which includes: Monitoring patient populations by understanding how to effectively use the Reporting Workbench and modifying reporting dashboards.

ELEMENTS OF COMPETENCE

This CE activity has been designed to change learner competence and focuses on the American Board of Medical Specialties area of systems-based practice, the Institute of Medicine competency of quality improvement, and the interprofessional competency of roles and responsibilities.

STATEMENT OF NEED AND PURPOSE

The purpose of this training is to demonstrate efficiencies in EMR configuration, in order to accommodate patient workflows in specialty and sub-specialty areas. Specifically, the courses will show learners how to personalize the tools they use in documentation, placing orders, and messaging about patient care. 

INTENDED AUDIENCE

This program is intended for physicians in specialty and sub-specialty areas using the EMR in their daily practice.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

After completing this activity learners will be able to:

  1. Describe the physician and provider training programs available from Epic
  2. Identify programs that support specific learning goals
