UHS Summer Academy - 2024
Summer Academy is an annual learning series and this summer has a focus on clinical services. The topics will focus on brief interventions, working without session limits, and better understanding the system.

Intended Audience
This activity is designed for psychologists, social workers, physicians, nurses and other interested mental healthcare providers.
Elements of Competence
This continuing education activity has been designed to change learner competence and focuses on the American Board of Medical Specialties areas of practice-based learning and improvement, and the interprofessional competencies of roles/responsibilities, and teams/teamwork.
Learning Objectives
As a result of participation in this series, members of the healthcare team will be able to:
- Enhance the integration of physical activity as a therapeutic component in mental health care to improve patient outcomes.
- Develop mindfulness skills and their application in mental health practice to enhance personal well-being and therapeutic effectiveness.
- Strengthen cultural competence in therapy to provide effective, culturally-attuned support to diverse populations.
- Improve communication strategies and stress management techniques to navigate challenging interactions and enhance therapeutic relationships in mental health settings.
