Team-Based Care: A podcast for the interprofessional healthcare team 2025
Team-Based Care is a podcast for the interprofessional healthcare team. Produced by the UW-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health, Office of Continuing Professional Development, each episode will have speakers from different professions explore a topic or theme that is evidence based, relevant to their practice, and has an interprofessional lens.
Elements of Competence
This continuing education (CE) activity is designed to improve learner competence in the following areas:
- ACGME/ABMS Competencies - Patient care and procedural skills, Medical knowledge, Interprofessional and Communication Skills
- National Academy of Medicine Competencies - Provide patient/person-centered care, Employ evidence-based practice, Population Health

- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Competencies - Address Health Disparities, Value Diversity in the Clinical Encounter
Intended Audience
MD, RN, APRN, Physician Assistants, and other members of the healthcare team.
Learning Objectives
As a result of participation in this educational activity, members of the healthcare team will be able to:
- Evaluate current topics and themes from an interprofessional lens.
- Apply best practices for improvement in patient care and outcomes.
- Describe the role of the interprofessional team in patient safety, patient and provider satisfaction, quality of care, health promotion, population health, and the cost of care.
