Series Overview

Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about a wide variety of topics pertinent to sports medicine through a weekly series including lectures, case studies and discussions. There will be a different presenter each week and presenters will range from orthopedic surgeons, primary care sports medicine doctors, radiologists, physical therapists, athletic trainers and academic researchers. Presentations will occur at Science Drive Medical Center and East Madison Hospital and will be streamed to both facilities.

As a result of participation in this educational series, members of the healthcare team will be able to...

  • Provide team based care when evaluating and treating common sports and concussive injuries in active populations. 
  • Identify age-specific differential diagnosis for musculoskeletal injuries and concussions.
  • Address factors that underlie racial, ethnic, gender and/or sexual orientation disparities in health and healthcare.

Board of Certification, Inc. (BOC)

The University of Wisconsin  Interprofessional Continuing Education Partnership (BOC AP#: JA0000358) is approved by the Board of Certification, Inc. to provide continuing education to Athletic Trainers (ATs). This program is eligible for a maximum of 0.75 Category A hours/CEUs. ATs should claim only those hours actually spent in the educational program. 

Wisconsin Physical Therapy Association (WPTA)

This series meets the standards for approval of continuing education credit for physical therapists and PTAs as outlined in Chapter 9 of the Wisconsin PT Practice Act.

Continuing Education Units

The University of Wisconsin–Madison ICEP, as a member of the University Professional & Continuing Education Association (UPCEA), authorizes this program for 0.75 continuing education units (CEUs) or 0.75 hours.
