Team-Based Care is a podcast for the interprofessional healthcare team. Produced by the UW-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health - Office of Continuing Professional Development, speakers from different professions explore a topic or theme that is evidence based, relevant to their practice, and has an interprofessional lens.
In this episode of Team-Based Care, we will discuss Decisional Capacity Assessment - what it means, its clinical application, and present clinical pearls. Learning Objectives

- Define the Decision Making Capacity Assessment (DMCA) process.
- Describe the criteria for when a DMCA should be considered.
- Explain how a team-based approach can be helpful in determining and addressing incapacity

AAPA Credit Designation Statement
The University of Wisconsin–Madison ICEP has been authorized by the American Academy of PAs (AAPA) to award AAPA Category 0.50 CME credit for activities planned in accordance with AAPA CME Criteria. This activity is designated for 0.5 AAPA Category 1 CME credits. Approval is valid until 12/10/2024. PAs should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation.
