As a result of participating in this educational activity, learners as members of the healthcare team will be able to:
- Describe how the incidence of Type 2 Diabetes in pediatrics is rising
- Outline the various risk factors for development of Type 2 Diabetes in children
- Recall the various ways that pediatric patients can present with Type 2 Diabetes
- Distinguish the risk of complications in youth-onset Type 2 Diabetes compared to Type 1 Diabetes and Adult-Onset Type 2 Diabetes
- Discuss potential harmful effects of insulin resistance and the importance of early detection
- Examine how those in fellowship were uniquely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic
