Professional Activities

Dr. Walaszek is Vice Chair for Education and Faculty Development, and Director of Psychiatry Residency Training at the University of Wisconsin Department of Psychiatry. He is co-leader of the Outreach, Recruitment and Engagement Core at the Wisconsin Alzheimer's Disease Research Center and directs the Public Health Pillar of the Wisconsin Alzheimer's Institute.

Research Interests

Dr. Walaszek's mission is to improve the care of people with Alzheimer's disease through education of medical students, residents, and clinicians in practice. He has a specific focus on the assessment and management of behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia, which can be disabling and dangerous for both patients and their caregivers.
