Dr. Amy Kaji received her medical degree from Thomas Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She completed her Emergency Medicine residency at Harbor-UCLA, after which she completed a two-year disaster medicine research fellowship while obtaining her MPH and later her PhD in epidemiology. Currently, Dr. Kaji is a Professor of Clinical Medicine and Interim Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. In addition, Dr. Kaji is also the newly-installed president of the SAEM Board of Directors for the 2021-2022 term. Her scholarly interests include research methods, EMS/disaster, and pediatric Apparent Life-Threatening Events (ALTE).
