Intended Audience

This activity is designed for physicians, nurses, advanced practice providers, psychologists, social workers, licensed counselors and other interested mental healthcare providers.

Elements of Competence

This continuing education activity has been designed to change learner competence and focuses on the American Board of Medical Specialties areas of practice-based learning and improvement, and the interprofessional competencies of roles/responsibilities, and teams/teamwork.

Learning Objectives

As a result of participation in this series, members of the healthcare team will be able to:

  • Describe the role that alcohol plays in the belonging, mental health, and flourishing of students of color and international students in a predominantly white institution. . 
  • Summarize the intersectionality of the UW-Madison alcohol climate with racial climate and how that impacts students of color and international students. 
  • Interpret, in student's own voices, what they believe could and should be done to improve both the alcohol and inclusion and belonging climates on a large campus.

Credit Designation Statements

Continuing Education (CE) credits for psychologists are provided through the co-sponsorship of the American Psychological Association (APA) Office of Continuing Education in Psychology (CEP). The APA CEP Office maintains responsibility for the content of the programs.

American Medical Association (AMA)
The University of Wisconsin–Madison ICEP designates this live activity for a maximum of 2.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)

The University of Wisconsin–Madison ICEP designates this live activity for a maximum of 2.0 ANCC contact hours. ANCC pharmacotherapeutic hours will be calculated and awarded as appropriate.

Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB)
