A Primer on Inpatient Management of Opioid Use Disorder - Sreevalli Atluru, MD
Target Audience
Certified Nurse Midwives (CNM), Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA), Nurse Practitioners (NP), and Physician Assistants (PA). Additional professionals who would benefit from attending include MD/DOs, RNs, and students.
Learning Objectives
As a result of this educational activity, learners as members of the healthcare team will be able to:
- Identify hospitalized patients with opioid use disorder (OUD)
- Summarize inpatient management of acute opioid withdrawal
- Promote harm reduction practices in hospitalized and discharged patients
- Discuss the use of methadone, buprenorphine-naloxone and naltrexone in the inpatient setting
