Learning Objectives

As a result of participation in this educational session, learners as members of healthcare or research team, will improve their ability to

  1. Describe how Large Language Models (LLMs) are being used in healthcare with an emphasis on how EHR vendors are using these technologies.
  2. Discuss the governance and workflow considerations of incorporating LLM tools into healthcare workflows, and, specifically, how these are similar and different from machine learning predictive models.
  3. Explain how human factors engineering informs our ability to design and evaluate tools that use LLMs to improve patient care.
