Series Overview
The Women's Mental Health Conference involves Case-based & Small-Group discussion between Behavioral Health Faculty and Staff who present important clinical research findings in the field of psychiatry as it relates to women. Clinicians, trainees, and staff in the Department of Psychiatry will benefit from identifying and discussing common barriers to treatment. These educational events will be held quarterly on Fridays from 12:00-1:00 pm at the Department of Psychiatry (WisPIC 6001 Research Park Blvd. Madison, WI 53719) and via WebEx.
Global Objectives
As a result of participation in this educational series, members of the healthcare team will:
- Demonstrate expanded expertise and comfort with providing collaborative care, working on and communicating with an interdisciplinary care team.
- Identify specialty resources for improved women's mental health care.
- Describe the roles of team members in providing effective, value-driven patient care to address health disparities and the needs of the female patient population the team serves.
- Reflect on and address the challenges and opportunities posed by diversity in healthcare and factors that lead to disparities in healthcare.
