Series Overview

The VA Madison Cardiology Conference addresses common and unique cardiovascular conditions and treatments in order to improve competency and team-based practice in the treatment of disease processes and conditions common in the VA patient population. Staff and fellows deliver content via case studies, morbidity and mortality discussions, research reviews and other interactive teaching modalities that engage all members of the healthcare team.

Global Objectives

As a result of participation in this educational series, members of the healthcare team will…

• Use new technologies and new medical knowledge in the Cardiology field.
• Improve interprofessional communication among healthcare team members across different interdisciplinary sections of the Va Cardiology Service.
• Contribute to patient-focused discussions within their scope of practice.
• Thoughtfully assess strategies to improve diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts to better serve patients and address health disparities.
