Objectives:  As a result of this educational regularly scheduled series, learners as members of the healthcare team will be able to:

  • Summarize the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on youth and athletes' mental health
  • Describe the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on the quality of life of collegiate athletes
  • Explain potential insight and/or explanation for the cause of change in quality of life
  • Identify reasons why there is significant improvement in depressive symptoms seen in those with preoperative clinical depression

  • Discuss the functional outcomes between those with preoperative depression and negative depression

  • Explain why Preoperative depression should not be a contraindication against hip arthroscopy
