As a result of this educational regularly scheduled series, learners as members of the healthcare team will be able to:
- Determine epidemiology of low back pain (LBP) in the young athlete and differentiate from adult LBP
- Predict accurate differential diagnoses based on athlete history and location of pain, and identify red flags
- Utilize the most effective physical exam techniques to elicit a proper diagnosis in the acute and chronic LBP setting
- Apply imaging and lab work up and recommend rehabilitation and interventional therapy as appropriate
- Distinguish common diagnoses for LBP in the young athlete and return to play recommendations based on the diagnosis
