As a result of this educational regularly scheduled series, learners as members of the healthcare team will be able to:

  1. Determine epidemiology of low back pain (LBP) in the young athlete and differentiate from adult LBP
  2. Predict accurate differential diagnoses based on athlete history and location of pain, and identify red flags
  3. Utilize the most effective physical exam techniques to elicit a proper diagnosis in the acute and chronic LBP setting
  4. Apply imaging and lab work up and recommend rehabilitation and interventional therapy as appropriate
  5. Distinguish common diagnoses for LBP in the young athlete and return to play recommendations based on the diagnosis
