Learning Objectives:

  1. Analyze global trends in the management of acute Achilles tendon (AT) rupture
  2. Compare and contrast pros/cons of operative versus non-operative management following AT rupture in order to optimize short- and long-term outcomes
  3. Understand the greatest threat to the integrity of an AT repair in the early post-operative stage and be able to implement an objective way to track this throughout the rehab process
  4. Be able to analyze current trends and updates to standard AT repair rehabilitation
  5. Describe a framework for return to sport decision-making in the terminal phases of rehabilitation
