Identify the patient demographic and injury characteristics associated with rotator cuff tears

Explain factors associated with asymptomatic, incidentally identified rotator cuff tears becoming symptomatic over time

Define tear progression and how that correlates with symptoms

Identify which rotator cuff tear patterns respond well to nonoperative treatment

Define surgical indications based on natural history data.
