The Surgical Indications and Continuity for Kids (SICK) educational series is offered as part of the Project ECHO. This educational series is designed for primary care pediatric physicians and clinical team to promote best care practices for pediatric patients preparing or recently completing surgery. This educational series consists of monthly, one-hour sessions. Registered participants are asked to attend all sessions.

- Assess and correct physiological and psychological problems that may increase surgical risk for regional pediatric patients.
- Give the patient and significant others complete learning and teaching guidelines regarding the surgery.
- Instruct and demonstrate exercises that will benefit the pediatric patient postoperatively.
- Plan for discharge and any projected changes in lifestyle due to the surgery.
