Substance use disorders are effectively addressed in general health care settings. However, the practice is not as widespread as would be optimal for addressing the individual and population health impacts of risky and problem substance use. ECHO seeks to enhance this service provision through shared learning and expert consultation across members of the healthcare team in a diverse, inclusive, and equitable manner. An example of suboptimal care is shown in the case information provided as a resource.
