University of Wisconsin Practical Imaging and Intervention 2024
Overview
The main focus of the meeting this year will be on Interventional Radiology, Musculoskeletal Radiology, advanced imaging techniques and therapeutics, and nonclinical issues such as artificial intelligence. Familiarity with the above topics will be increased through attendance at scheduled lectures and participation in informal small group discussions with faculty and other participants throughout the course. Attendance is limited to 26 registrants including faculty, so registrants can spend time in small group discussions. Educational videotapes will be available for viewing at any time.
Intended Audience
This course has been designed to give practicing radiologists, imaging scientists, and radiologists in training a review and update of current concepts in diagnostic and interventional radiology while also exploring the future of imaging and Radiology. In addition, the course brings a referrer’s perspective so that the Radiologist better understands the impacts on their patients.
Learning Objectives
As a result of participation in this educational activity, members of the healthcare team will:
- Explain the diagnosis, treatment and practical applications of imaging from the practical to the cutting edge with a focus on Musculoskeletal Imaging, Abdominal Imaging and Imaging Science.
- Describe the implications of the evolving and improving diagnostic and therapeutic techniques for oncologic conditions and how that might affect clinical practice.
- Explain the importance of nonclinical issues like leadership, artificial intelligence and value based decision-making on the clinical practice of radiology.
Elements of Competence
This continuing education activity has been designed to change learner competence and focuses on the American Board of Medical Specialties areas of patient care and procedural skills, and medical knowledge.
