As a result of this educational regularly scheduled series, learners as members of the healthcare team will be able to:

  • Compare efficacy and safety of cefazolin and antistaphylcoccal penicillins in the treatment of MSSA bacteremia 
  • Define the cefazolin inoculum effect and whether it is a clinical concern 
  • Evaluate if ertapenem can overcome inoculum effect created by cefazolin 
  • Examine the efficacy of cefazolin-ertapenem combination in MSSA bacteremia
