The Department of Pediatrics Research Week 2023

May 15, 2023 to May 19, 2023

The Department of Pediatrics’ annual Research Week will be held virtually May 15-19, 2023. Through a mix of live-streamed lectures, in-person events and interactive sessions, members of the Department of Pediatrics and the entire University of Wisconsin–Madison community can hear the latest advances in pediatric research.

Activities for the week include small group sessions with faculty and trainees, the second annual Fellows Capstone Presentations, the distinguished Gerard B. Odell Lecture, the Wald Faculty Research Forum and Town Hall, Keynote Lecture, platform presentations, and an in-person poster session with reception featuring the research of residents, fellows, faculty, and staff.

Intended Audience

The target audience for this activity is physicians, nurses, researchers, and students in the Department of Pediatrics who participate in research activities. 

Learning Objectives

By participating in the is activity, members of the healthcare team will be able to: 

  1. Discuss mechanisms for incorporating scholarly research into one's own research projects
  2. Identify best practices for developing Mentor and Mentee relationships to enhance and grow research projects across disciplines
  3. Demonstrate how QI initiatives and research directly impact health care disparities and patient outcomes
  4. Collaborate with faculty, staff, and trainees across disciplines to identify best practices in research
  5. Examine best practices for including diversity, equity and inclusion standards into scholarly work and research projects
