Pediatrics Research Week 2025

Madison, WI US
May 12, 2025 to May 15, 2025

Overview

The Department of Pediatrics’ annual Research Week will be held virtually May 12-15, 2025. Through a mix of live-streamed lectures, in-person events and interactive sessions, members of the Department of Pediatrics and the entire University of Wisconsin–Madison community can hear the latest advances in pediatric research.

Activities for the week include small group sessions with faculty and trainees, the annual Fellows Capstone Presentations, the distinguished Gerard B. Odell Lecture, the Ellen R. Wald Faculty Research Forum, Keynote Lecture, platform presentations, and an in-person poster session with reception featuring the research of residents, fellows, medical students, researchers, faculty, and staff.

Practice Gaps and Needs

In order for members of the Department of Pediatrics to continue their education and knowledge towards innovation in research that directly impacts patient care and health outcomes, we need to provide time and space to create opportunities of discussion across interprofessional disciplines, topics and initiatives. These topics include: DEI in research, wellbeing, research 101 resources, scholarly work and AI, understanding learners at different stages, fellow research and poster presentations. This wide range of topics and events provide time for participants to learn from each other and grow their own knowledge.

Elements of Competence

This educational activity is designed to change learner competence and focuses on the following competencies:

  • Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)/Nursing: Patient care and procedural skills, medical knowledge, and systems-based practice
