Title: Navigating Restrictive Eating in Pediatric GI: Identification, Intervention, and Interdisciplinary Collaboration
Learning Objectives:
- Identify appropriate screening questions and clinical red flags for restrictive eating disorders during pediatric GI visits.
- Identify medical criteria that warrant referral to the emergency department for children and adolescents exhibiting restrictive eating behaviors.
- Apply strategies for implementing medically necessary restrictive diets (e.g., gluten-free, FODMAP) while minimizing disordered eating risks in both high-risk and general pediatric populations.
- Analyze when to refer patients with restrictive eating to Adolescent Medicine versus co-management with primary care.
