Series Overview

The Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Tumor Board covers the optimal treatment and diagnostic plan for new patients and patients continuing treatment for about 4 patients per week. The tumor board draws expertise from physicians in pediatric surgery, radiology, pathology, radiation oncology, and medical oncology, as well as, nurses, pharmacists, social workers, and advanced practice providers.

Global Objectives

As a result of participation in this educational series, members of the healthcare team will:

• Use multidisciplinary approaches to diagnosis and staging of patients with cancer including the findings from imaging, biopsy and surgery, genetic and molecular studies.
• Describe evidence and/or guideline-based approaches to therapy as well as available clinical trials.
• Implement optimal treatment plans for pediatric patients with cancer by integrating surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, targeted therapy and immunotherapy as appropriate for the patient.
• Improve ability to work through complex values and ethics-based issues and communicate with a broader treatment team.

	American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) The University of Wisconsin–Madison ICEP designates this live activity for a maximum of 1 ANCC contact hour.  ANCC pharmacotherapeutic contact hours will be calculated and awarded as appropriate per session to meet the needs of advanced practice nurses.
	Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) The University of Wisconsin–Madison ICEP designates this knowledge-based activity for a maximum of 1 hours or 0.10 CEUs of CPE credit. Credit can be earned by successfully completing the activity. 	American Board of Surgery (ABS) - CME ONLY Successful completion of this CME activity enables the learner to earn credit toward the CME requirement(s) of the American Board of Surgery’s Continuous Certification program.
