Elements of Competence

This activity has been designed to change learner competence and focuses on the American Board of Medical Specialties areas of patient care and procedural skills and medical knowledge. This activity also focuses on the interprofessional competencies of roles and responsibilities.

Intended Audience

This activity is designed to meet the needs of primary care physicians, physician assistants, advanced practice nurses, and other health care professionals who are interested in expanding their knowledge and improving their care of patients.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity participants should be able to:

  • Demonstrate basic techniques of suturing, injection, aspiration, splinting/casting, upper and lower body ortho exam and discussion of examine findings, and inserting/removing IUD techniques.
  • Explain indications and contraindications for care.
  • Discuss management of complications.

CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY

Requests for cancellation must be submitted in writing to help@icep.wisc.edu. Cancellation requests received at least 120 hours prior to the conference will allow a full refund except for the nonrefundable processing fee of $50. No refunds will be made for cancellations received less than 5 days prior to the activity start date.
