Series Overview
A 1-hour virtual lecture, offering updates in patient care management, review of signs, symptoms, diagnostic tools for medical emergency situations with focus on pre-hospital management. A plethora of lecturers, leaders in their field, will share basic and advanced concepts with review of significant clinical cases that highlight the importance of early recognition, prompt transport to the proper facility and initial management, and how these actions will impact positively in patient's outcome.

Learning Objectives
As a result of participation in this educational activity, members of the healthcare team will increase their ability to:
- Define hidden or silent hypoxia and describe why patients may appear clinically stable despite inadequate oxygenation.
- Explain the physiologic mechanisms that contribute to silent hypoxia in patients with COPD, sepsis, overdose, and evolving respiratory failure.
- Identify subtle assessment findings and vital sign trends that may indicate early respiratory deterioration before obvious distress or collapse.
- Apply evidence informed assessment, oxygenation, ventilation, capnography, reassessment and early notification strategies to patients at risk for respiratory failure.
