As a result of this educational regularly scheduled series, learners as members of the healthcare team will be able to:
- Recall the most common cause of fatal and non-fatal injuries in older adults
- Organize a list of falls risk factors as far as impact on falls risk
- Healthcare teams should better be able to select patients for additional falls risk evaluation
Speaker biography:
Gerald Pankratz, MD, graduated from The Ohio University College of Medicine and then completed a Residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, followed by a Geriatric Medicine Fellowship. He joined the clinical faculty and started a primary care geriatric practice at the UW Health East Clinic in Madison, Wisconsin. He has been conducting clinical falls risks assessments at the interdisciplinary falls clinic for nearly ten years.
