Statement of Need and Purpose
Healthcare is changing quickly with the electronic health record (EHR) matching this rapid pace. Every user of the electronic health record can be a more efficient user. Many Clinical Informaticists currently are lacking the knowledge/skills to identify and promote clinician efficiencies.
This course builds upon the content in CLN102/102-Focused and exposes learners to numerous tips and tricks of the trade and provides opportunities for application.
Elements of Competence
This educational activity is designed to change learner competence in the following areas:
- National Academy of Medicine/Nursing: Utilize informatics
- Interprofessional Education Collaborative Competencies: Roles/responsibilities
- UW ICEP Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Value diversity in the clinical encounter.
Target Audience
This course is intended for Nurse Clinical Informaticists and other clinical informaticists who use Epic's EHR in their daily workflow.
Learning Objectives
Following this training, learners will be able to:
- Describe the purpose and value of empowering Epic End Users.
- Identify common ways to personalize the EHR experience for clinicians.
- Apply pocket guide tips to case-based scenarios and select appropriate methods to personalize the EHR.
