Dr. Lewiss is a Professor of Emergency Medicine and the Director of Point of Care Ultrasound at Thomas Jefferson University. She completed her medical education at the University of Pennsylvania and her residency at the Harvard Affiliated Emergency Medicine Residency program, where she served as Chief Resident. She then went on to complete an Ultrasound Fellowship at St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital. Dr. Lewiss is a leading scholar of point of care ultrasound. She is a physician healthcare designer and hosts The Visible Voices Podcast. Her workplace writings can be found in Harvard Business Review, Fast Company, the Philadelphia Inquirer, Nature, Slate, and CNBC. She is the author of MicroSkills: Small Actions, Big Impact, which was published in April 2024.
