About the Course
The Douglas T. Miller Symposium on Organ Donation and Transplantation will demonstrate to hospital partners that innovation increases donation opportunities resulting in more lives saved. Donation can change the trajectory of grief by creating hope and healing for donor families, waitlisted patients, and recipients.
Conference Format: Live In-Person
This conference is scheduled to be in-person at Glacier Canyon Lodge at the Wilderness Resort, Wisconsin Dells, WI. This conference will NOT be live streamed.

Practice Gaps and Needs
Based on documented gaps in current practice, this activity addresses critical topics in offering the opportunity of organ donation and managing a potential organ donation patient, authorization conversation skills, and clinical donor management skills.
After attending this activity, attendees should gain an understanding and the ability to explain what opportunities exist for organ and tissue donation, better understand and have the ability to speak to the dual advocacy nature of this work, and will gain confidence in being able to speak with donor families and assist in the management of donors.

Intended Audience
This activity is designed to meet the needs of primary care physicians, physician assistants, advance practice nurses, certified surgical technicians/AORN, clergy, social workers, and other professionals who are interested in expanding their knowledge and improving their care of patients.
Learning Objectives
As a result of participation in this educational series, members of the healthcare team will be able to:
- Increase knowledge of organ perfusion technologies that will lead to more organs being available for transplant
- Identify strategies to support organ donor families throughout the donation process
- Compile authorization language best practices to preserve and support organ donation opportunities in their respective hospital
- Discover innovations in organ donor management to optimize organ utilization
- Identify ways to provide patient and family centered care while honoring each patient/family's unique circumstances

As an author, columnist, blogger and lecturer, he imparts a clear understanding of how generational dynamics are changing the landscape of business. Marston and his firm, Generational Insights, have provided research and consultation on generational issues to hundreds of companies and professional groups, ranging from small businesses to multinational corporations, as well as major professional associations, for over 20 years. In 2018, Cam began a podcast that was soon picked up as an FM radio show titled What's Working with Cam Marston. Cam interviews a wide range of expert guest to learn about the trends influencing their workplace, workforce, and marketplace, and how they are successfully reacting to them. He has ow broadcast over 200 episodes and released his fifth book, What Works: The Ten Best Ideas from the First 200 Episodes. Cam also records commentaries for Alabama Public Radio called Keepin' It Real. They're his humorous and inspirational observations of the world around him and have won both statewide and national awards.
