Current Concepts in Eye Care 2024

Overview

The UW Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Science has developed a grand rounds-style continuing education program called Current Concepts in Eye Care. This marks the 24th year of the program. Each topic will be clinically based, focusing on the latest treatment and management options. The goal of each presentation is to provide one or two clinical pearls, enhancing the ability to counsel and medically manage patients with the current treatment options available.

    Intended Audience

    This activity is intended for optometrists, and other interested healthcare professionals.

    Learning Objectives

    As a result of participation in this meeting, members of the healthcare team will be able to:

    • Describe new developments as these relate to explorations of a variety of eye diseases and their treatment.
    • Initiate and facilitate optometrist-ophthalmologist dialogue and collaboration with researchers/scientists within the department.
    • Demonstrate new strategies, instruments, and tools that are used to improve the outcomes for patients with ophthalmic conditions and/or low vision.
