UWH-NIL: Neonatal Feeding and Swallowing Development: A Closer Look 2.25.2025
The provided virtual or in-person opportunity will focus on the development of feeding/swallowing across prenatal and neonatal periods. Topics to be covered include statistical information regarding pediactric feeding difficulties, neonatal development of oral feeding and swallowing, and the impact on special populations/diagnoses. During this presentation learners will have the opportunity to participate in activities to experience differences in breathing and swallowing patterns and the impact on respirations and feeding, in addition to a Q&A Session. Active instruction time expected to be 1 hour 45 minutes, with 15 minute Q&A.
Intended Audience
This activity is designed for nurses and radiology technologists.
Learning Objectives
By participating in this activity learners, as members of the healthcare team, will be able to:

- Name symptoms of left sided heart failure
- Explain three components of post cardiac procedure care
- Recall steps for the Chest Pain Protocol
