Learning Objectives:
- Analyze global trends in the management of acute Achilles tendon (AT) rupture
- Compare and contrast pros/cons of operative versus non-operative management following AT rupture in order to optimize short- and long-term outcomes
- Understand the greatest threat to the integrity of an AT repair in the early post-operative stage and be able to implement an objective way to track this throughout the rehab process
- Be able to analyze current trends and updates to standard AT repair rehabilitation
- Describe a framework for return to sport decision-making in the terminal phases of rehabilitation
