Dr. Ford is an experienced emergency medicine physician with practice in both rural and urban settings.He earned his biology degree from the University ofSouth Carolina–Columbia and his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin, where he was active in student leadership. Following his emergency medicine residency at UW, where he served as chief resident his final year.Dr. Ford currently serves as a practicing physician and Director of Public Relations for Emergency Medicine Specialists, S.C. in Milwaukee. He also sits on the Advisory Committee for Wisconsin Emergency Medical Services for Children(WEMSC), advancing pediatric emergency care statewide.Beyond medicine, he has been a strong community advocate — chairing the People’s Maps Commission in 2020-21 at the invitation of Governor Tony Evers to develop fair district maps across Wisconsin. He co-founded the Dyslexic Medical Professionals Group, participates in community health programs such as AARP’s Walk With a Doc, and hosts Pulse Check Wisconsin, a podcast exploring key health issues across the state.Earlier this year, Dr. Ford was named one of 40 Under 40 Leaders in Health by the National Minority Quality Forum. He is a member of the Committee to Protect Health Care and a public advocate for quality, affordable health care that protects patients over profits. Dr. Ford has penned several news editorials, including in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and The Wisconsin Independent, and has appeared on MSNBC and PBS Wisconsin — contributing to stories on the current government shutdown, cuts to Medicaid and the Health Insurance Marketplaces, and emergency care in light of Wisconsin's abortion laws.
