Public Health Leadership in Teaching and Engagement 2023-2024: Session 5 - Public Health Screening
Overview
The Public Health Leadership in Teaching and Engagement (PHLITE) program is an exciting opportunity for University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health clinical faculty to gain knowledge and practical skills on how to best integrate public health into their clinical service, teaching, and research. Along with a small cohort of colleagues, participants will have the opportunity to hear from subject matter experts and discuss opportunities and challenges with fellow colleagues on such topics as: community engagement, advocacy, and working with public health data.

- Discuss diseases for which it is appropriate to screen
- Identify evaluation consideration related to screening programs, including equity considerations
- Describe ways to incorporate discussions of public health screening into teaching
Elements of Competence
This continuing education (CE) activity has been designed to change learner competence and focuses on the American Board of Medical Specialties areas of professionalism, systems-based care, and interpersonal and communication skills, in addition to the interprofessional competencies of values/ethics for interprofessional practice, and teams and teamwork.
