Overview

The Public Health Leadership in Teaching and Engagement (PHLITE) program is an exciting opportunity for University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health clinical faculty to gain knowledge and practical skills on how to best integrate public health into their clinical service, teaching, and research. Along with a small cohort of colleagues, participants will have the opportunity to hear from subject matter experts and discuss opportunities and challenges with fellow colleagues on such topics as: community engagement, advocacy, and working with public health data.

  • Describe ways to measure population health
  • Identify the role of a physician in improving population health
  • Identify ways to incorporate a population health perspective in medical education
  • Discuss current challenges/opportunities for the field of population health

Elements of Competence

This continuing education (CE) activity has been designed to change learner competence and focuses on the American Board of Medical Specialties areas of professionalism, systems-based care, and interpersonal and communication skills, in addition to the interprofessional competencies of values/ethics for interprofessional practice, and teams and teamwork.
