Phlebology Treatment in Honduras 2023

Overview

In this activity, participants will have hands-on experience in the diagnosis and treatment of varicose veins.  Participants will learn with lectures and discussions of both routine and complicated cases of venous pathology.  The learner to faculty ratio will be excellent: 3-4 learners to every instructor.

Target Audience

This educational activity has been designed to meet the needs of physicians who manage patients with venous disease.

Learning Objectives

As a result of participation in this educational activity, members of the healthcare team will:

  • Explain basic and advanced ultrasound-guided foam sclerotherapy
  • Describe vein anatomy and pathology
  • Identify complications and methods to work with veins in foam sclerotherapy
  • Identify current research in venous treatment
  • Discuss current best practices in caring for venous leg ulcers

Elements of Competence

This continuing education activity has been designed to change learner competence and focuses on the American Board of Medical Specialties areas of medical knowledge, and patient care and procedural skills, in addition to the interprofessional competency of teams and teamwork.
