Perioperative Management of Pulmonary Hypertension - Andrew Feider, MD
Intended Audience
The target audiences for this activity are clinical anesthesia providers in the Department of Anesthesiology, which includes both faculty physicians (MD, DO) as well as residents or fellows in training, and RNs. Other specialties who would benefit from attending include PA, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, students, and clinical anesthetists.
Learning Objectives
As a result of participation in this educational activity, members of the healthcare team will:
- Recall background information on pulmonary hypertension and right heart failure.
- Learn how to do utilize risk assessment of the pulmonary hypertension patient.
- Outline a detailed preoperative planning process, including medical optimization.
- Discuss anesthesia techniques and intraoperative management.
