Learning Objectives

As a result of participation in this online educational activity, members of the healthcare team will be able to:

  1. Illustrate the history and current state of the xenotransplantation field.
  2. Summarize to the various components of pig-to-human xenotransplantation and the challenges that have been overcome and those that remain.
  3. Identify expertise, infrastructure and resources that exist at UW-Madison for leadership position in xenotransplantation field.
  4. Relate updates on UW’s xenotransplantation research efforts.

American Board of Surgery (ABS)

Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 1 Medical Knowledge MOC points in the American Board of Surgery's (ABS) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABS MOC credit.

Participant completion information will be shared with the ABS through PARS. By recording your attendance at this event, you are giving UW-ICEP permission to share this information with ABS.

AAPA Credit Designation Statement 

The University of Wisconsin–Madison ICEP has been authorized by the American Academy of PAs (AAPA) to award AAPA Category 1 CME credit for activities planned in accordance with AAPA CME Criteria. This activity is designated for 1 AAPA Category 1 CME credits. Approval is valid until 3/1/2023. PAs should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation.
