MATEC-WI Advanced HIV Workshop: Ending the HIV Epidemic in the Current Public Health Environment
As part of a bold U.S. Department of Health and Human Services-wide initiative that strives to end the HIV epidemic in the United States by 2030, the Ending the HIV Epidemic in the United States (EHE) initiative is "vital to regain momentum, advance innovation, and achieve health equity", according to the CDC. In the wake of COVID-19, expanding the four science-based strategies of Diagnose, Treat, Prevent, and Respond are essential to success in EHE efforts. Join this virtual program to learn about the equitable and innovative efforts the City of St. Louis (Missouri) Department of Health have engaged in to ensure access to HIV prevention, treatment and care.
Intended Audience
This activity is designed for physicians, nurses, advanced practice nurses, pharmacists, and social workers working with HIV patients in their practice.
Learning Objectives
After participating in this activity, learners will be able to:
- Describe the impact of COVID-19 on public health priorities
- Outline Ending the HIV Epidemic (EHE) plans
- Compare EHE outcomes with lessons learned and best practices
- Summarize the Fast Track Cities initiative in St. Louis, and efforts to address health disparities among marginalized populations with HIV
