Intended Audience

This activity is designed for physicians, nurses, administration, finance and allied health personnel who wish to learn more about the impact that improving quality has on lowering health care costs and improving access to health care.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of the educational activity, the health care team will be able to:

1. Explain the relationship between cost and quality to better care and lower costs

2. Model how other states are increasing cost transparency through online sites and engaging consumers

3. Outline how providers can improve care, reduce cost through care coordination in both clinics and acute care settings through patient-centered care
