Hot Topics in Public Health — A Symposium Series: Enduring

The "Hot Topics in Public Health" symposium series is a forum to provide up-to-date information on breaking issues in public health. The series adopts various formats for education, including panel discussions, scholarly presentations, and audience-based question and answer. Hot topics are selected by a steering committee of public health professionals, population health researchers, and clinicians at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.

Elements of Competence

This educational activity is designed to change learner competence and focuses on the following competency areas:

  • The American Board of Medical Specialties: Medical knowledge, Interpersonal and Communication Skills, and Systems-based practice
  • National Academy of Medicine: Provide patient/person-centered care and Population health
  • Interprofessional Competencies: Values/ethics for interprofessional practice and Interprofessional communication
  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Address health disparities

Successful Completion

Learners will participate in lectures with the opportunity to engage in a Q&A discussion.
