Series Overview

Pediatric Grand Rounds is a weekly multidisciplinary and interprofessional conference designed to improve a participant's ability to practice pediatric medicine, including patient care, conducting healthcare research, providing medical education, addressing public health, and implementing innovation.

Intended Audience

MD/DO, RN, APRN, Residents, Fellows and other Trainees.

Learning Objectives

As a result of participation in this educational activity, members of the healthcare team will increase their ability to:

  1. Describe the problems with the original PKU screening program and the harms that resulted.
  2. Identify three newborn screening programs that caused more harm than good.
  3. Identify three principles of the Wilson and Jungner criteria for screening.
