Course Overview
This course will explore Reporting Workbench templates for Ambulatory, Inpatient, and Emergency Department and how to distribute these reports and summaries using Radar Dashboards. Participants will also learn how to create and maintain patient registries.
Elements of Competence
This CE activity has been designed to change learner competence and skills/strategies. The content of this activity focuses on the following ACGM/Nursing and NAM and nursing areas of competence: systems-based practice, provide patient-centered care, and utilizing informatics. In addition, the content addresses roles/responsibilities and interprofessional communication.
Statement of Need and Purpose
The purpose of this training is to learn skills that enable physician builders to effectively utilize available data to inform patient care. This course will cover skills to efficiently access and synthesize data into usable reports, thereby informing clinical decision-making and ultimately improving patient outcomes and safety.

Intended Audience
This program is intended for physicians in specialty and sub-specialty areas using the Epic EMR in their daily practice.
Learning Objectives
As a result of this training, physician builders will be able to:
- Identify terminology and methods of creating reports in the EHR including Reporting Workbench.
- Configure reporting workbench reports and build reports that use columns and groupers.
- Explain how to select patients to include in a registry and the specific patient data that should be stored in registry tables.
- Build a dashboard.
- Describe EHR reporting tools such as an overview of Slicer/Dicer, Clarity, and Ad-hoc Chronicles reporting.
This session will be held live virtually.
