Statement of Need and Purpose

Healthcare is changing quickly with the electronic health record (EHR) matching this rapid pace. Every user of the electronic health record can be a more efficient user. Many Clinical Informaticists currently are lacking the knowledge/skills to identify and promote clinician efficiencies.

This course builds upon the content in CLN102/102-Focused and exposes learners to numerous tips and tricks of the trade and provides opportunities for application.

Elements of Competence

This CE activity has been designed to change learner competence and focuses on the Institute of Medicine areas of utilizing informatics and the Interprofessional and Nursing areas of roles/responsibilities.

    Intended Audience

    This course is intended for Clinical Informaticists who use Epic's EHR in their daily workflow.

    Learning Objectives

    Following this training, learners will be able to:

    • Describe the purpose and value of empowering Epic End Users.
    • Identify common ways to personalize the EHR experience for clinicians.
    • Apply pocket guide tips to case-based scenarios and select appropriate methods to personalize the EHR.
