ELEMENTS OF COMPETENCE

This continuing education (CE) activity has been designed to change learner competence and performance, and focuses on the American Board of Medical Specialties areas of patient care and procedural skills, practice-based learning and improvement, interpersonal and communication skills, and systems-based practice, in addition to the interprofessional competencies of communication, roles/responsibilities, and teams/teamwork.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • The health care team will be able to use ultrasound to identify traumatic injuries and determine appropriate interventions
  • Staff will understand how a IABP works and demonstrate how to troubleshoot alarms or complications
  • Staff will be able to choose appropriate medications and manage an acutely ill critical care patient

TARGET AUDIENCE

This activity is designed for nurses and physicians practicing in the EMCCT environment.
