Overview
This course is designed for new CCU employees to review the pathology of renal, gastrointestinal, and multiorgan dysfunction. It includes discussion of nursing assessments and interventions for this patient population in the CCU.

This activity has been designed to change learner competence and focuses on the following competencies:

Intended Audience
This activity is designed to meet the educational needs of nurses.
Learning Objectives
As a result of this activity, participants, as members of the healthcare team will be able to:
- Define and interpret abnormal lab values.
- Demonstrate how to manage continuous bladder irrigation (CBI) and obtain abdominal pressures.
- Discuss treatment and intervention strategies for patients with gastrointestinal or renal comorbidities.
