Overview

Provide education to new employees of the Critical Care Unit (CCU) on the basic pathophysiology of neuro patients within the CCU population, with a focus on brain injuries and the management of intracranial pressure.

Learning Objectives

    As a result of this activity, participants, as members of the healthcare team will be able to:

    • Demonstrate the set-up and management of EVDs, Ceribell, and pupillometer
    • Discuss the process of conducting apnea/brain death testing
    • Explain the disease process of neuro injury
