Dyslexia Toolkit for Primary Care 2022_10_13

This activity is designed to educate providers on methods for addressing dyslexia in primary care settings. 

Intended Audience

This activity is intended for physicians, nurses, psychologists, physician assistants, and social workers who encounter patients with a possible diagnosis of dyslexia in their practice. 

Learning Objectives

1.Discuss how to approach school- and literacy-related concerns in primary care settings..
2.Screen for risk factors and symptoms of dyslexia and utilized toolkit materials to improve collaboration for patients and families with concerns about dyslexia.
3.Develop informed treatment and referral plans by distingulishing among common co-occuring and competing diagnoses related to dyslexia.
4.Advise patients and families about how to request services and accommodations in public schools and colleges.
